On June 21, 7-8 at the Carnegie Museum of Art theatre:
The Archive of Modern Conflict project I collaborated on is being discussed and presented by my editor, Kalev Erickson.
Kalev is uniquely positioned to speak about the intersection of photobooks and archives. As a commissioning editor of the Archive of Modern Conflict (AMC), an enigmatic photography collection housed in London, Erickson has access to a treasure trove of photographs and historical ephemera not necessarily related to war (despite what the name suggests). This led to the creation of More Cooning with Cooners, a book that showcases Erickson’s strength as an editor. For this one-night event, Erickson will discuss the Archive of Modern Conflict and specifically its publishing program. In addition, he will share More Cooning with Cooners with the audience and consider what role an institution like the AMC—or even archives in general—play in the creation of photography art books.
Reception with cash bar and snacks to follow.
